If you have vmware transport vmdb 32 error on your system, I hope this guide will help you solve it. –> Transport Error (VMDB) -32: Channel: Read error. This issue occurs when the High Precision Incident Timer (HPET) is enabled. Note. Virtual HPET is introduced in Virtual Hardware version 8. See the Virtual Machine Time Tracking Reference Guide for more answers.

Since yesterday, after restarting my web host (DELL E6410, W7 SP1 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, SATA3 2×750 GB with WorkStation 9.0. machines.

I keep getting “Unable to find a valid search process to connect” and some time before that: “Transport (VMDB) error – thirty-two: Pipe: Read failed” or “Transport (VMDB) decomming – 14: Pipe connection was recently torn”

I’ve been running the second series on this machine with no problems and upgraded from WS7 to WS9 without any problems.

For your information, we changed the domain 3 months ago, but this was never your problem.

I’ve searched Google and the forum in different ways. So far I’ve tried:

    vmware transport vmdb error 32

    – can uninstall/restart/install workstation 3 times. Is firstuse a command line uninstaller, then /clean before this installation, and finally find almost all entries in the /reg file.

    – The IT professional asked if there were any recent group policy changes (like preventing vmware.exe from running?!)

    – rename vmware.exe (firewood I see is similar to what happens in this story: http://communities.vmware.com/thread/331099?start=0&tstart=0 …but no luck at all)

    – excluded vmware.exe from AV type (Microsoft ForeFront). Unfortunately, I do not always have the right to deactivate it…

It’s not a corrupted file in the correct file (even vm backup -7zip- doesn’t work on my laptop…but new stuff on the other one).

Even a newly created WM (no OS), no shoes and boots! 😞

*NOTE*: If the VM is actually created as a shared VM, I can run it locally remotely! And the same VM at startup (via .vmx) does not work with the workstation GUI! ?

I’ve attached some logs. Working (vmware.log remotely) using and not working (vmware-vmx-4072.log using WS-GUI).

From what I’ve seen (and some of what I understand), the processor often goes unnoticed? !

when displaying all CPU operating information (CPUID/family/style hostname…etc)

Thanks for checking out VMware Workstation 9.0.0 Build-812388 only, so far I’ve only used:

    Failed to include ‘C:pathtomyVirtualMachine on.vmx’.
Transport Error (VMDB) -32: Pipe: Failed to read.

Worked on Windows XP SP3 with a virtual machine that worked especially well elsewhere.

This is on a Retina iMac 5k (2019) with 3D graphics acceleration enabled. Disabling 3D acceleration seems to fix the problem, though obviously not a perfect/long term solution!
